The Role  
  • Deliver a 0.5 teaching load as a Learning Support Teacherwhile leading campus wellbeing and support initiatives as Learning Support Coordinator. 
  • Coordinate case management processes,identifyingstudents requiring additional academic, social, emotional, or behavioural support. 
  • Lead targeted interventions and develop Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) to support disengaged students to successfully complete their senior schooling.
  • Drive trauma-informed wellbeing programming and restorative practices across the campus.
  • Analysestudent wellbeing and engagement data to identify trends and inform targeted support strategies. 
  • Lead Learning Support Team meetings and ensure effective collaboration between teachers, Education Youth Workers, and leadership.
  • Support staff in implementing inclusive classroom strategies, differentiated instruction, and trauma-informed teaching approaches.
  • Ensure compliance withNCCD requirements, documentation standards, and evidence collection processes.
  • Foster a positive culture of belonging, safety, and empowerment where students feel known, valued, and supported.
 
Role Requirements  
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Educationor relevant qualification to teach secondary students 
  • CurrentQueensland College of Teachers (QCT) registrationor ability to obtain 
  • Experience supporting students withadditionallearning, behavioural, or wellbeing needs 
  • Knowledge of inclusive education, trauma-informed practice, and differentiated learning
  • Experience with case management, Individual Learning Plans, and student wellbeing frameworks
  • Strong collaboration, leadership, and communication skills
  • Current National Police Check and open driver’slicence 
 
The School  
We’re working with a well-established Special Assistance School in Queensland that provides an alternative education pathway for students i n Years 11 and 12 who have disengaged from traditional schooling. The school focuses on supporting young people to re-engage with education while developing practical skills and vocational pathways that lead to employment or further training.
The campus offers a supportive, student-centred environment where wellbeing, belonging, and individual support are at the core of the learning approach. Staff work collaboratively to deliver trauma-informed and inclusive education practices, ensuring students feel safe, valued, and empowered to succeed.
This position is based at the Salisbury campus, where you will work closely with the campus leadership team, educators, and wellbeing staff to strengthen student support frameworks and help drive positive outcomes for young people completing their senior schooling.
