Whether you need a long-term nanny, a casual babysitter or emergency temporary cover, the caring expertise of a childcare professional can be invaluable. It is important to understand what type of care options are available when it comes to nanny and babysitting for your children. Below is a breakdown of the types of services Expect A Star can assist you with.

Types of Services:

  • Nanny:

Permanent-Part-time or Full-time care- A nannies prime responsibility is to meet and cater for your child's physical, emotional, social and intellectual needs. A nanny is also responsible for all domestic routines related to the child such as the washing and ironing of the child's clothes, towels and bed linen, meal preparation and maintaining a clean and tidy environment for the child's play area and bedroom. A nanny can work either on a full time or part time permanent basis.  

Temporary Care: Short-term basis- If you are in need of a nanny for short contracted period of time- a week to 6 months.  

Before and after school care: Casual or on-going basis- The nannies responsibility is to assists parents in the before and after school routines of the child/children.

  • Babysitter:

Casual or on-going basis- This is usually between 3-6 hours. The prime responsibility of a babysitter is the supervision of the child/children and can involve feeding and putting the child/children to sleep.

Emergency Care: Is just that - in times of emergency such as: -  When your child is too sick to go to school or daycare-  Your regular carer/nanny is ill-  When those unexpected work events that need attending arise-  Schedule conflicts.
